Austin Peay State University Governors Baseball travels to Eastern Kentucky Colonels this weekend

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSURichmond, KY – The unfriendly road awaits Austin Peay’s baseball team as it treks to “Death Valley” for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against Eastern Kentucky, Friday-Sunday, at Turkey Hughes Field.

The Govs and Colonels will start the series with a 5:00pm (CT), Friday contest followed by a 3:00pm, Saturday contest and a noon, Sunday affair.

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – For the third consecutive night, only one run separated the Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. It was the Dodgers (6-2) who had the upper-hand on this night as they won 3-2.

After Kyle Jensen tacked on a seemingly innocuous solo home run to give the home team a 3-0 lead heading to the ninth, it appeared the Sounds were out for the count.

APSU Governors Basketball sign four, including son of former great

However it is the name of prep senior that will more than interest APSU basketball fans and harken memories of Govs’ days gone by.

Clarksville Police seeks assistance Identifying Counterfeit Currency Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Detective Dennis Honholt was able to provide a photo of the most recent suspect related to the counterfeit currency incidents. At this point, we have no name information and are unable to link him to other suspects. This suspect recently did a Craigslist deal for Nike shoes using counterfeit currency.

Two Firework Shows and Opening Night Ceremonies Kick Off Sounds’ 2015 Home Season

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds open their 2015 home schedule at First Tennessee Park on Friday, April 17th and will play host to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple-A Brewers) and Oklahoma City Dodgers (Triple-A Dodgers).

The eight-game homestand will be highlighted by a pair of Fox 17 Friday Night Firework shows, several giveaways and an Opening Night with all the bells and whistles.

2nd Brigade Combat Team - StrikeFort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne Division

Fort Campbell, KY –  First Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment “Blue Spaders”, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division unfurled its unit colors signifying its activation during a ceremony April 14th, 2015, at Freedom Fighters Physical Fitness Center.

The addition of a third infantry battalion brings 2BCT on par with its sister brigades within the 101st Abn. Div., which have already added an addition maneuver unit in accordance with the Department of the Army’s restructuring initiative, BCT 2020.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball game with Southern Illinois, Thursday at Cheryl Holt Field, has been cancelled.

The cancellation is the 12th game lost to weather this spring for the Lady Govs, with 10 being home contests.

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The hanging of the quilts for the Quilts of the Cumberland Quilt Show was held on Wednesday night April 15th at the Madison Street United Methodist Church in preparation for this year’s Rivers and Spires Festival.

There are a lot of terms used by quilters that you may be strange to you, but if you are attending the quilt show, you will probably hear many of them used in reference to the quilts you will view.
