Many teams from around the Ohio Valley Conference – no doubt seeking a sneak peek at Austin Peay’s facility ahead of the 2015 OVC Outdoor Championships, May 15th-16th – will be at this event.

Belmont, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech and Murray State will be in attendance, with Western Kentucky, Bethel, Life and Lipscomb also sending competitors.

Reigning OVC Female Co-Field Athlete of the Week Kaylnn Pitts leads a stellar group of jumpers into the weekend. She hit a season-best 12.54m at last week’s Hilltopper Relays in the triple jump, picking up her third consecutive victory in the event, and also netted a personal-best 5.87m in the long jump.

Three other Lady Govs picked up wins a week ago in Bowling Green. Senior Jessica Gray topped the charts in the 800m run, while classmate Natalie Olberding‘s season-best 1:01.78 in the 400m hurdles mark, moving her into the top-80 in the NCAA East Region. Freshman Lydia Saina also picked up the win in the 5000m run.

After being unable to host the event last season due to the ongoing construction at Governors Stadium, Austin Peay is excited to continue hosting its annual home event. The last time the Lady Govs were able to host the APSU Invitational in 2013, current Lady Govs Erika Adams (100m dash), Breigh Jones (400m dash) and Olberding (400m hurdles) each picked up wins.

After this weekend, Austin Peay will send representatives to the Drake Relays next weekend in Des Moines, Iowa.
