Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Sounds pounded out six runs in the first three innings on Friday night at First Tennessee Park and avoided a sweep at the hands of the Dodgers with an 8-1 victory.

Nashville improved their record to 8-8 with the win and scored more runs tonight than they had in the first three games of the series combined.

The Sounds had outscored the opponent 13-3 in the first inning coming into tonight’s action and they added to that total with three more tallies.

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Dive into Aquatic Boot Camp at Fort Campbell’s Gardner Pool for a water based fitness program that will be fun, diverse and continue to challenge your fitness level. This is not water aerobics!

This class will provide a unique way to improve cardiovascular function; increase endurance, flexibility, balance and agility; build muscular strength and cross train.

There is a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 15.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUMuscle Shoals, AL – It is said you cannot win the conference golf championship on the first day of a tournament, but you can sure lose it.

In Austin Peay State University men’s golf case, Friday, in Day 1 of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament, the Govs clawed their way around the course and find themselves in third place, four shots back of Belmont heading into the final two tournament days, being played at The Shoals, a Robert Trent Jones Trail Course.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will close out the road portion of its 2015 regular-season schedule this weekend with a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Murray State.

The Lady Govs (9-31, 5-16 OVC) open the three-game series with a 1:00pm, Saturday doubleheader at Racer Field, and conclude the matchup, at 1:00pm, on Sunday with a single contest.

Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church to celebrate 150th Anniversary, May 3rd

 

Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian ChurchPalmyra, TN – In 1865, Queen Victoria ruled England. Abraham Lincoln was elected to his second term in the United States. And Reverend Nute Larkins organized the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, Tennessee. This year, the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church celebrates its 150th birthday.

The old Ebeneezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1846, was renamed Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1865. Originally, a one room log cabin in the hollow of East Creek, the early location was on the creek, subject to flooding.

Friends of Dunbar Cave announce Spring Fling Schedule, May 2nd, 2015

Austin Peay State University again designated by National Weather Service as StormReady

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Clarksville and Montgomery County are no strangers to severe weather, as flood, thunderstorm and tornado warnings are common occurrences in the lives of its citizens.

It is for just that reason that Austin Peay State University’s emergency team has consistently reacted quickly to alert the campus community to any potential danger. For instance, whenever tornado warnings are received, APSU sends a text and an email message to students, faculty and staff, and the outdoor public address system brings weather warnings to attention.
