Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMurray, KY – Austin Peay State University’s softball team had its chances, Saturday afternoon at Racer Field, in its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader versus Murray State, but left 14 runners on base in coming up short in 3-1 and 5-3 – in eight innings – losses.

Barry Zito Allows Three Runs Over 7.0 Innings For Team’s Second Quality Start Of Season

Nashville SoundsMetaire, LA – The Sounds went quietly on Saturday night in the series opener against New Orleans, posting just six hits and falling 5-0 at Zephyr Field.

Veteran left-hander Barry Zito was the bright spot during an otherwise down game for Nashville. The starter threw 7.0 strong innings, allowing just three runs on three hits and three walks. Only one of the trio of runs were earned, as the left-hander also added three strikeouts. It was only the second quality start of the season for the Sounds’ pitching staff.

Austin Peay State University hosts 10th Annual Research and Creativity Forum to honor student research

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Research that is not shared with the world has little value and, with that in mind, the Office of Undergraduate Research at Austin Peay State University recently celebrated the research of its students during the 10th Annual Research and Creativity Forum.

Held Friday, April 17th, in the Morgan University Center Ballroom on the University campus, the forum, as well as the Graduate Research Extravaganza, offered students of all majors and disciplines a chance to promote and showcase the scholarship and creativity in postsecondary education.

Tennessee Titans will hold inaugural High School Football Recruiting Fair at LP Field April 28th

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and the Tennessee Football Coaches Association will host their inaugural high school football recruiting fair at LP Field’s West Club on Tuesday, April 28th from 8:00am – 12:30pm. More than 60 high schools across the state are currently scheduled to attend, drawing representatives from more than 30 college and universities across 11 states.

The recruiting fair is designed to provide exposure for high school student-athletes in the area and increase their chances to play football at the collegiate level.

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Water Outage Planned for Airport Road Area

 

Tuesday, April 28th, 2015

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has scheduled a water outage on Airport Road and the surrounding area on Tuesday at 9:00am until approximately 1:00pm for water valve replacement work.

The outage will affect Airport Road, Cricket Lane, Storybook Drive, Cinderella Lane, King Cole Drive, Bo Peep Lane in the Storybook Acres subdivision and Tandy Drive in the Airport subdivision. Area residents may also experience low water pressure during the work.

Airport Road will be passable.

APSU’s Chris Baker named All-OVC Golf, Justin Arens named to All-Newcomer team

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUMuscle Shoals, AL – Junior Chris Baker, who shattered the Austin Peay State University single-round record with a 61 earlier this spring, has been named All-Ohio Valley Conference.

Meanwhile, freshman Justin Arens, who elevated his play down the stretch while playing in all spring events, has been named to the OVC All-Newcomer team.
