That’s the message Michael Warren, MD, repeatedly stresses and wants all Tennesseans to start thinking about now. As director of the Tennessee Department of Health’s Family Health and Wellness office, he studies ways to keep children safe and believes “parents can never be too vigilant in protecting their children from heatstroke in vehicles.”

Nashville, TN – The Sounds were shutout for the second time this season and dropped their sixth straight game as Iowa notched a 4-0 win at First Tennessee Park on Tuesday night.
Nashville has now been outscored 31-16 during their six-game losing streak. Iowa improved to 12-13 with the win as the Sounds fell to seven games below the .500 mark.
The starting pitchers were on top of things early for both clubs. Barry Zito (5.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 5 K) was seeking his first win of the season and was able to dodge several bullets early on.

Sala, a 6-0, 185-pound catcher, helped lead Houston High School to the Tennessee Class AAA State Championship game and a runner-up finish last season.

Clarksville, TN – A 10-match home slate highlights the Austin Peay State University volleyball team’s 2015 schedule prepared by head coach Taylor Mott and released Tuesday.
The 10 home matches, including an eight-match OVC slate, are the most for the Lady Govs during Mott’s tenure and the most to be played at the Winfield Dunn Center since the 2011 season.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Gracey Avenue from Crossland Avenue to Greenwood Avenue to repair a water main leak. Area residents may also experience low water pressure during the work.
The repair is anticipated to be finished and water service restored by approximately 5:30pm.
The road is open to traffic.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has scheduled fire hydrant replacement work on Wednesday, May 6th, 2015, at midnight on Collier Road. The necessary work will result in a water outage on a section of Fort Campbell Boulevard between Collier Road and Airport Road.
Collier Road and Fort Campbell Boulevard will remain open to traffic during the work.
The fire hydrant replacement is anticipated to be finished and water service restored by approximately 4:00am.
Clarksville Police Department hosted an Improvised Alcohol Awareness Class for Clarksville Academy Upperclassmen
Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday April 29th, 2015 at 1:00pm, the Clarksville Police Department hosted an Improvised Alcohol Awareness Class for the Junior and Senior classes from Clarksville Academy at their outdoor Sports Complex off of Hwy 48-13.
The purposes of the class was to educate teens on the dangers of impaired driving, educate on DUI laws, and to influence a reduction in the underage consumption of alcohol.
