Austin Peay State University Governors Baseball heads Lipscomb, Tuesday

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team begins the regular-season’s final stretch when it travels to Lipscomb for a 6:00pm, Tuesday contest at Dugan Field in Nashville.

Austin Peay (24-25) will seek to get back to .500 on the campaign with Tuesday’s matchup – the third with Lipscomb this season. Austin Peay is just 5-6 in midweek outings this season and 7-13 on the road.

However, one of the Govs road wins came in the season’s first meeting with the Bisons, a 5-2 decision in Nashville, February 25th.

Left-hander Zach Neff (0-1, 9.00 ERA) will get the call to start Tuesday’s affair. The freshman will be making his second start this season and first since an April 28th start at Western Kentucky. He went three innings in Bowling Green, Kentucky, allowing four runs on five hits.

Lipscomb (32-17) has posted an impressive 21-9 record at Dugan Field this season. The Bisons will finish a five-game homestand with Tuesday’s game, which included a 2-1 Atlantic Sun Conference series loss to Stetson last weekend. Lipscomb won the last meeting with Austin Peay, 12-6 in 11 innings, April 21st in Clarksville.

Bisons right-hander Will Blalock (1-0, 2.63 ERA) also will be making his season’s second start. His first start came in Lipscomb’s May 5th contest against Western Kentucky where he tossed five scoreless innings in a game LU won in walk-off fashion.
