Land Between the Lakes’ Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory Summer Evening Shows and Star Parties

Land Between the Lakes - LBLOffice of Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Summer Evening Planetarium Shows begin May 30th with Firefall at Golden Pond Planetarium followed by a Star Party.

Friends of Land Between The Lakes will present additional 8pm evening planetarium shows and star parties on select Saturdays during June, July, August, and September. Admission is $5.00 ages 13 and up, $3,00 ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.

Join the fun at the Golden Pond Planetarium June 13th and 27th, July 11th and 25th, August 8th and 22nd, and September 5th, to view a planetarium show and then step out back to the Golden Pond Observatory for a Star Party. On August 29th, only an evening show will be presented.

Evening programs begin with a theater presentation of Firefall, Wildest Weather in the Solar System, or Back to the Moon For Good on the Planetarium’s 40-foot dome, followed by live viewing of the night sky at a Star Party, weather permitting.

Members of the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers (www.wkaa.net) host star parties where guests can view the night sky through a number of different telescopes. Star parties are free, beginning May 23rd (Memorial Day Weekend) and ending September 5th (Labor Day Weekend).

The Golden Pond Planetarium is located just off Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway (KY Highway 453) near the junction with US68/KY80 in Land Between The Lakes.
