Nashville SoundsSacramento, CA – For the third time this season, the Nashville Sounds threw a combined shutout, defeating the Sacramento River Cats 5-0 at Raley Field on Memorial Day.

The game marked the first time the Athletics Triple-A affiliate was the road team at Raley Field. Sacramento had been affiliated with the Athletics the past 15 years.

Nashville started the scoring in the top of the fourth inning when Jason Pridie extended his hitting streak to a season-best 10 games with a leadoff double.

The outfielder then scored on a Matt Carson RBI single. Anthony Aliotti drove in Bryan Anderson later in the frame to give the Sounds the early 2-0 lead.

Carson, Aliotti, Anderson and other former River Cats did most of the damage for the Sounds on the day. Carson went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and a SB; Anthony Aliotti went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI and Alden Carrithers went 2-for-4 on the afternoon.

Jim Fuller sent down all six River Cats he faced to earn his first career Triple-A victory. He and Brock Huntzinger combined to shut down 12 straight batters. Huntzinger walked the leadoff man in the ninth, but he then sent the next three men down in order to earn the three inning save. The save was his first of the season.

#Soundsramento continues tomorrow with the return of Barry Zito to Raley Field. The River Cats will counter with Robert Coello. First pitch is scheduled for 9:05pm.
