CPD encourages the owners or neighbors of vacant homes that are for sale, rent or being renovated to report suspicious activity.

Nashville Sounds out slugged by Memphis Redbirds, 9-4

 

Joey Wendle Posts Four Hits, Extends Hitting Streak To Eight Games

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – Both Nashville and Memphis came out slugging in Wednesday afternoon’s game at AutoZone Park, but the Redbirds eventually evened the series with a 9-4 win.

A run was scored by one or both of the teams through each of the first six innings. Those six frames included a combination of 13 runs and 25 hits, as Memphis eventually outhit Nashville, 14-12.

The combination of Craig Gentry and Joey Wendle at the top of the lineup set the tone all game for the Sounds.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – TJ Conroy, of San Jose, California, becomes the latest middle infielder to join the Austin Peay State University baseball team’s 2016 roster as it continues adding infield depth.

Conroy, a 6-0, 175-pound middle infielder, will transfer to Austin Peay after two seasons at De Anza College – a community college located in Cupertino, California.

Clarksville Police report Wilma Rudolph Boulevard Pedestrian Fatality

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015 at 12:33am, Clarksville Police Officer L. Harris responded to a crash at US-79 (Wilma Rudolph Boulevard) and Terminal Road.

A pedestrian entered the southbound travel lanes on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard for an unknown reason. The driver of a Nissan Pathfinder attempted to avoid striking the pedestrian by going left. The Pathfinder struck the pedestrian resulting in fatal injuries.

Fort Campbell, KY – Airframe structural repair specialists from Company B, 96th Aviation Support Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, have been restoring ailerons for a display airplane at the company’s hangar, here, for more than a month.

Ailerons are control surfaces that are attached by hinges to the trailing edge of an airplane’s wings and are used to maintain side-to-side stability during flight. On this aircraft, the ailerons are nearly as long as the wings.

Jacob Capps, an airframe structural repair specialist with Company B, 96th Aviation Support Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, drills to enlarge holes in the metal of an aileron of a C-47 Skytrain, here, May 18, 2015. Sheet metal will replace canvas, and drilling the holes ensure that the replacement rivets will fit properly when installed. (Sgt.
