Last season he batted .270 with 13 RBI and 22 runs scored in 37 games, striking out only 14 times in 162 plate appearances. That followed a freshman campaign that saw him bat .254 with 18 RBI in 34 games.

“TJ has a good arm and capably can play all the infield spots,” said Governors head coach Gary McClure. “He is a productive left-handed hitter with a smooth swing and he takes a lot of pride in doing the little things at the plate that help a team win. TJ also is a good base runner who understands how to play the game. He is going to be a good addition to this team.”

Conroy is the sixth addition to the Austin Peay’s 2016 baseball roster. He joins infielder Parker Phillips, of Collierville, Tennessee; left-handed pitcher Austin Higginbotham, of Gainesville, Georgia; left-handed pitcher Brett Newberg, of Moline, Illinois; catcher Alex Sala, of Germantown Tennessee and middle infielder Max Remy of Reedsville, Pennsylvania.
