Austin Peay State University Men’s Basketball to play Cal Poly in first Northern Colorado contest

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball will play Cal Poly, November 21st, in first-round regional play of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, being held at Northern Colorado.

After facing Vanderbilt, November 13th, in the season opener and Indiana, November 16th, the Governors will head to Greeley, Colorado, for the Northern Colorado part of regional play, November 21st-22nd.

APSU will face Cal Poly, which was 13-16 and 6-10 in the Big West a year ago, on the 21st and will face either host Northern Colorado or Maryland-Baltimore County the following day.

Those two teams will comprise the matchup.

The contest with Cal Poly—the first time the two teams have met—figures to be highlighted by the matchup between the Mustangs 6-9 senior forward Brian Bennett, who averaged 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last year, and the Govs’ 6-8 center Chris Horton, who averaged a team-best 13.1 points and 11.1 rebounds in 2014-15.
