TDOT announces I-24 East in Montgomery County to Close for Weekend Bridge Work

Traffic to Utilize On and Off-Ramps at Rossview Road

Tennessee Department of TransportationClarksville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will close a short section of Interstate 24 East and State Route 237 (Rossview Road) in Clarksville for bridge construction. During the closures, eastbound interstate traffic will use the on- and off-ramps at SR 237.

The work is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th, from 7:00am to 3:00pm – I-24 eastbound only and SR 237 bridge over I-24 will be closed.

This operation will likely create delays for I-24 eastbound traffic. All motorists will be detoured off the interstate at Exit 8 and immediately back onto the interstate using the exit and entrance ramps.

The bridge over the interstate will be closed to allow interstate traffic to maintain flow across the ramps. Although the ramps will be accessible, motorists are advised to plan ahead and utilize alternate routes if possible.

The Park & Ride facility on Rossview Road will also be closed during the interstate closure. No access will be provided during the scheduled work.

Message boards are in place to alert motorists to the road closures. Tennessee Highway Patrol and TDOT HELP trucks will also be on-site to assist with traffic.

The scheduled closures are weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent work from occurring as scheduled, the time will be adjusted or the work will be rescheduled.

The lane closures are necessary to set beams for the new bridge. Later this year, the old bridge will be removed. The work is part of a $12.9 million project that will modify the interchange and widen SR 237 in Montgomery County.
