Clarksville, TN – Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a 5-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.
With 10+ venues, bars and businesses participating each month, the First Thursday Art Walk in Clarksville is the ultimate opportunity to savor and support local creative talent.
This month’s ArtWalk will feature D B Horns playing for Music For Mercy. Music for Mercy raises money to support the Academy for Academic Excellence, a school supporting special needs students.
The participating businesses are listed below as well as a description of the work they will be exhibiting and services they will be offering during the event.
The Downtown Artists Co-op (96 Franklin Street)
The DAC is an association of talented local artists and interested patrons dedicated to promoting the visual arts in the Clarksville/Montgomery County area.
Our objectives are to sponsor art exhibitions of work by Co-op members and regional artists, to provide continuing support for the Co-op and its membership through the sale of art work, to encourage arts education with outreach programs and scholarship fundraisers, and to develop membership services which directly support the arts community.

Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC) is proud to announce our 4th Annual Regional Juried Art Exposition, an exhibit of fine art by talented artists from the Middle Tennessee/Kentucky area. Art works in the Exposition are entered in the following four categories: Painting, Drawing, Mixed Media, and 3D/Fabric Arts. Deadline for entries is August 1st.
The opening reception for the DAC Juried Art Expo will be on August 6th from 5PM till 8 PM. The DAC will be serving up fabulous appetizers, punch and wine along with the stunning works of art by regional artists of all kinds. As always, the DAC opening is a central part of Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk, a wonderful evening of art, music and more in beautiful Historic Downtown Clarksville. First Thursday Art Walk occurs regularly on the first Thursday of each month.
During the opening reception DAC will announce the results and award prizes for the following: Best of Show, First and Second Place winners and Honorable Mentions at the discretion of the juror in each category. Winners will be announced and awards will be presented at the reception.
The current exhibit will be on display the entire month of August. The DAC Gallery is located at 96 Franklin Street, in Downtown Clarksville, TN. For those who enjoy the visual arts, the Peg Harvill Gallery, located just beyond the lobby, hosts twelve shows annually featuring locally and nationally known artisans. Shows generally open the first Thursday of each month for our First Thursday Art Walk.

The Roxy Regional Theatre’s Peg Harvill Gallery is proud to feature local artist, Susan Bryant, during the August First Thursday Art Walk.

Edward’s Steakhouse is proud to host local photographer, Ron Jackson, during the August First Thursday Art Walk and will also feature Jackson Miller on the piano.
“I always thought photography would be an interesting hobby but an Alaskan cruise in 2013 turned an interest into a passion. Since that time I have attempted to capture those images that surround our daily lives which we so often take for granted, from sunrises and sunsets to wildlife and landscapes.”
Ron is a lifelong resident of Clarksville, TN and a graduate of Austin Peay State University and Bank School of the South at LSU. He has been a local banker for 42 years and joined F&M Bank in 1995 and currently serves as the Senior Vice President. He is a member of the Clarksville Department of Electricity board of directors as well as a member of the Clarksville Friends of Photography, Clarksville Downtown Kiwanis Club and Leadership Clarksville ’94.

Customs House Museum (200 S. 2nd Street)
The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is Tennessee’s second largest general interest museum. It features fine art, history, and children’s exhibits.

In the Footsteps of Alvin York
Alvin York was one of the most decorated World War I soldiers from Tennessee. This exhibit celebrating his life is brought to us by the Museum of the American Military Experience. Sponsored in part by Nanette Morford Allstate Agency.

1. Luis Mora
2. Luis Mora (1874 – 1940) was a Hipanic-American artist, working in watercolor, oil, and tempera paints. His illustrations were published in widely read magazines such as Ladies’ Home Journal, and is in the collections of over 30 museums, including the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. See his sketches and illustrations from the Customs House Museum collection, now on display.
Diane Davich-Craig: Paintings & Ponderings
Nashville artist Diane Davich-Craig’s work is colorful, happy and sometimes has a little joke waiting for you to notice. Bringing inanimate objects to life is a favorite subject for her. This Exhibit is sponsored by Nashville Arts Magazine.

Golden Lights: New Work by Paul Collins
The Framemaker proudly presents Golden Lights: New Work by Paul Collins. The exhibit is part of Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk on August 6, 2015. An opening reception will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The artwork will remain on display at The Framemaker throughout the month of August during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 10:00am – 5:00pm).
Paul Collins is an Associate Professor of Art at Austin Peay State University. He creates paintings, drawings and sculpture that combine humor, tactility and observation to examine the world. Collins earned a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University and has been an artist-in-residence at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Anderson Ranch Arts Center and the Vermont Studio Center.
His work has been featured in New American Paintings, Art Voices, Fresh Paint Magazine and has been exhibited across the United States. Paul Collins is represented by Zeitgeist Gallery in Nashville.

Rogate’s Boutique is proud to host local artist Peggy Bonnington during the August First Thursday Art Walk.
This group of small, mixed media drawings represents the most recent work of local artist Peggy Bonnington. Materials, color and content are spontaneously chosen and whimsical in nature, created with the intention to delight both artist and viewer.
Bonnington works in a variety of media and styles which will be further showcased at her November 2015 solo show at the Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC).
