Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office receives donation from Freedom Friends of NRA for Gun Safety Program

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – At Saturday’s Freedom Friends of NRA banquet in Clarksville, the group presented a donation of $2,800 worth of educational material for the Eddie Eagle program.

The program helps law enforcement teach elementary school kids what to do when they come across a gun – stop, don’t touch, run away and tell a grownup.

“We’re happy to support this program, as it has undoubtedly saved kids’ lives,” said Mike Webb, Tennessee NRA Field Rep before presenting the check to Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson.

This donation includes program materials, which will be used to set up the curriculum for the program in Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary schools. It also includes an Eddie Eagle mascot costume.

“We are grateful for this donation of supplies and materials, and for the opportunity to teach the children of our county the importance of gun safety,” said Sheriff John Fuson. “This is just another way we can ensure the safety of our children here in Montgomery County.”
