Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team announced its 2015-16 schedule, Tuesday, which features 11 home matches.
In the fall portion of the schedule, Austin Peay will compete in four tournaments, beginning with the UTM Fall Invitational, September 11th-13th.
Lastly, the Lady Govs will take part in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in West Lafayette, IN, October 15th-19th.
Austin Peay opens the non-conference schedule with four-straight home contests, beginning, January 24th, against Kennesaw State. A meeting with Evansville wraps up the month (January 29th) before back-to-back dates with Dayton (February 5th) and Chattanooga (February 6th).
After an away match at Lipscomb (February 19th), the Lady Govs will have a break before wrapping up its non-conference slate against Western Kentucky, March 3rd, and Wright State, March 12th, at the Governors Tennis Center.
Road trips to Eastern Kentucky (March 18th) and Morehead State (March 19th) will await APSU to open OVC action before returning to Clarksville to take on SIU Edwardsville, March 25th, and Eastern Illinois, March 26th.
After consecutive matches at Southeast Missouri and UT Martin, April 1st-2nd, respectively, two final home contests await against local rivals Murray State, April 5th, and Tennessee State, April 8th. The regular season concludes with matches at Belmont, April 9th, and Jacksonville State, April 16th.
The OVC Women’s Tennis Championship will be held April 22nd-24th at a site to be determined.
The Lady Govs finished last season with a 3-17 overall record and 1-9 in Ohio Valley Conference play. This year, APSU must replace three seniors. Hannah Tatlock, who played primarily as the No. 2, returns to the court, along with fellow junior Isabela Jovanovic and rising sophomore Brittney Covington.
