In 2010, his work on and off the pitch led to him being named the Midwest Region College Assistant Coach of the Year, the same year in which he helped produce the most prestigious recruiting class in program history.

Under his tutelage, the 2010 team also set program records for goals against average (0.68) and shutouts (13) with his experience in defensive strategies. The Lady Govs also reached the OVC Tournament in three out of four years from 2010-2013 under his management.

“Jeremy has demonstrated his outstanding character and professionalism for the past nine years and I know that he will be a great head coach,” Austin Peay head coach Kelley Guth said. “This promotion is my way of acknowledging Jeremy’s abilities and value to this program. I feel that Jeremy enhances my abilities as the head coach and I trust Jeremy to make sound decisions that are in the best interests of our staff and student-athletes.

“It’s an exciting time for Lady Govs soccer as we begin our 2015 campaign, and I’m very excited to have Jeremy as my associate head coach moving forward.”

Parker joins the women’s soccer coaching staff with ample experience as both an assistant and interim head coach. A native of Clarksville, AR, she was most recently a member of the University of the Ozarks body, a tenure which began in November 2014. While serving as an assistant for the Eagles, Parker received an opportunity to become interim head coach following a change. She held the position for three months and was responsible for all aspects of the program.

On the training grounds, Parker served as a defensive-minded instructor who trained goalkeepers and developed strategies for the back line.

“I am excited to have Sam join our staff this season,” Guth said. “In the short time she has been with us, she already has proven to be hard-working and devoted to this program. I see her making great strides in developing her knowledge and experience each and every day as a member of this staff.

“She has done an outstanding job getting to know our team and understands the importance of the professional relationships we must develop with our players as we serve them as role models.”
