Nashville Offense Records Season-High 21 Hits
Reno, NV – Aaron Brooks dominated in Sunday’s series opener and the Nashville offense smashed 21 hits, as the Sounds won their fourth straight by beating the Reno Aces at Aces Ballpark, 8-4.
In just his second start as a Sound, Brooks came out firing. He retired 10 straight to open the contest and mastered the Aces through seven innings. Reno collected just three hits off the right-hander and was victim to the strikeout eight different times. Brooks never allowed a walk and lowered his ERA to 3.56 in PCL play before being relieved in the eighth. The win improved his record to 8-6.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University volleyball head coach Taylor Mott‘s Black Squad posted a 2-1 victory (26-24, 16-25, 15-5) in Sunday afternoon’s Red-Black scrimmage at the Dunn Center.
Freshman middle blocker Kaylee Taff led the Black Squad with 12 kills, posting five kills in both the first and third sets.
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is seeking community volunteers to mentor students taking part in the Tennessee Promise program. Tennessee Promise allows any Tennessee high school graduate the opportunity to attend a community college, Tennessee College of Applied Technology or to get an applicable associate’s degree from a four-year institution, tuition free.
Mentors are assigned to students within their county and help students eliminate the barriers of accessing post-secondary education.

Chattanooga, TN – Freshman Jennifer Smith headed home the game-winning goal in double overtime, Sunday, as Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team defeated Chattanooga, 1-0.
For the second time in three days, the Lady Govs (1-1-0) were faced with a golden goal scenario in double overtime.
Clarksville, TN – The Governor’s Highway Safety Office (GHSO), the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP), and the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association (TSA) have joined forces to strengthen and support traffic enforcement nationwide by providing the Law Enforcement Challenge program, an innovative program designed to stimulate traffic law enforcement activities.
The program targets three major traffic safety priorities: occupant protection, impaired driving, and speeding.
Clarksville, TN – On Sunday morning, August 23rd, 2015 at 12:40am, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a shots fired call on Nolen Road. There was one victim from the shooting.
The suspect is Marcus Mitchell from Clarksville. He was booked into Montgomery County jail and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Possession, and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. His total bond amount is $30,500.
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 at 10:15pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Dover Road near Walker Circle.
John Herdman (19) of Clarksville was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Dover Road near Walker Circle. He is at Skyline Medical Center in Critical Condition.

There was one victim from the shooting. He has been transported to a medical facility. Detective Chris Cunningham was called in to take over the investigation.
