TWRA announces registration underway for 2015 Free Youth Deer Hunt

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Youth between the ages of 10-15, who are hunter safety certified and who have never harvested a deer, are eligible to win a spot in what has become an annual special hunt. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will host the hunt in conjunction with the opening day of the 2015 Tennessee Young Sportsman Deer Hunt on Saturday, October 31st.

A total of 30 young hunters will be selected to participate in the event to be held in Humphreys County. For the last several years, a landowner has graciously donated his property for these young hunters to have the opportunity to record their memorable harvest. «Read the rest of this article»


APSU Lady Govs Golf heads to MSU Invitational

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMurray, KY – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team will seek improvement when it travels into Kentucky to play in the MSU Invitational, Monday and Tuesday, at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.

The 36-hole event will see 18 holes played 11:00am, Monday, and the final 18, 10:00am Tuesday on the par-72, 6,017-yard layout.

Austin Peay State University’s Graduation Gala celebrates and supports upcoming graduates

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The black cap and gown, neatly folded and protected by a plastic sleeve, has a seemingly divine quality to it. When a college senior first picks up this graduation regalia, several weeks before commencement, his or her face usually softens, and for a very brief moment, the student knows only joy.

The feeling sometimes fades when the person realizes there’s no one around to share their excitement, but this fall, the Austin Peay State University Registrar’s Office is hosting a special event—the Fall 2015 Graduation Gala—to celebrate these students.

U.S. Army’s top General visits 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The 39th chief of staff of the Army visited with the commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell and other senior leaders during a luncheon at the 2nd Brigade Combat Team’s dining facility here September 11th.

Gen. Mark A. Milley discussed with Maj. Gen. Gary J. Volesky and brigade commanders and command sergeants major his vision for the Army and addressed issues facing the force moving forward.

During his visit the CSA spoke about his number-one priority – readiness.
