Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – After an impressive seven-goal outburst, Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team looks to build on the offensive momentum this weekend in two matches at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field.

The Lady Govs (2-4-0) will meet Kennesaw State, 7:00pm, Friday, before wrapping up their three-game homestand, 2:00pm, Sunday, against Alabama State on Senior Day.

The Lady Govs will meet the hosts in a 7:00pm, Friday contest.

Clarksville Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting September 18th, 2015

The four-team event will begin at 9:00am, Friday, at both the Governors Tennis Center and outdoor courts.

Convergys LEAPs in to Support Youth Development

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – On September 3rd, Convergys presented LEAP with a $1,000 check with $500.00 of it earmarked for scholarships.

In addition to the financial contribution, the company also made a commitment to support the LEAP career readiness program through mock interviews, workplace tours, and administration/feedback on career assessment.

The company is also encouraging employees to get involved outside of work through personal and group mentoring opportunities.

New Austin Peay State University Scholarship honors Victim of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – At Kenwood High School on Tuesday, 18-year-old Skylar Hughes presented Austin Peay State University President Alisa White with a $25,000 check.

The money, which Skylar helped raise, will fund the Kathryn Watson Over Endowment—a new scholarship, named for Skylar’s former teacher, that will be awarded each year to a Kenwood graduate majoring in education at APSU.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Freshman midfielder McKenzie Dixon, of the Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The freshman from Bentonville, Arkansas, came to Austin Peay as a highly-decorated recruit and proved her mettle last week, recording a hat trick in the Lady Govs’ 7-1 drubbing of Western Illinois, Friday, at Morgan Brothers Field, the first by an APSU player since Tatiana Ariza, October 4th, 2013.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Lane Closure on Cunningham Lane

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed approximately 150 feet of the outer eastbound lane of Cunningham Lane near Armistead Drive for natural gas line maintenance.

The work may cause traffic congestion and motorists may wish to seek an alternate route during the work.

The maintenance work is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 3:30pm.

Rotary Park 80’s 5K/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk to be held Saturday, September 19th

 

Friends of Rotary ParkClarksville, TN – This is Rotary Park’s first annual 5k/1 Mile Fun Run and Walk fundraiser for FORP Friends of Rotary Park. The event will be held Saturday September 19th from 7:30am-10:30am.

We are asking all runners to be creative in wearing your 80’s attire. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization.

We are asking for a $25.00 donation for adults(18 and over). For youth(17 and under) a $15.00 donation. 5 and under is free.
