Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to alert the community of a scam that has resurfaced.

How the scam operates: The intended victim receives a phone call from the suspect who identifies himself as a Deputy or Sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Governor Bill Haslam Encourages High School Seniors To Apply for Tennessee Promise Before November 2nd Deadline

 

15,830 Students Utilizing Tennessee Promise Benefits This Fall

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today encouraged high school seniors to apply for the Tennessee Promise, Tennessee’s groundbreaking scholarship and mentorship program that provides high school graduates last-dollar scholarships to attend two years of community or technical college free of tuition and fees. The deadline for applications is November 2nd.

According to the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC), 15,830 students from the graduating high school class of 2015 are utilizing Tennessee Promise benefits this fall, which is the first year of implementation.

Clarksville Police looking for missing juvenile Sianna Bender

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is looking for missing juvenile Sianna Etoria Bender. Sianna is a 17 year-old black female with brown hair and black eyes.

Sianna was last seen at her residence on October 4th, 2015 when she stated she was going to Nashville Tennessee with some friends and has not returned.

She was last seen wearing black pants and a white shirt.

APSU Soccer’s McKenzie Dixon earns third adidas® OVC Player of the Week honor

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN – Freshman McKenzie Dixon, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, earned the third adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career, Tuesday.

The Bentonville, Arkansas, native directed the APSU offense last weekend, leading to a pair of wins over Southeast Missouri and UT Martin. Dixon scored three goals, giving her eight for the season, with game-winning scores.

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Water Main Line Work Planned On Ashland City Road (U.S. Highway 41A Bypass)

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water utility construction crews will be working on Ashland City Road and U.S. Highway 41A Bypass between Robert Street and Cumberland Drive beginning at 9:00pm this evening.

Clarksville Police release victims names in shooting on Princeton Drive

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Sunday, September 4th, 2015 at 11:10pm, the Clarksville Police Department responded to a shots fired call on Princeton Drive where two persons were shot. A  2-year-old victim who died on scene.

The homicide victim has been identified as Joseph Bankston (2yrs, 11 months old). The adult shooting victim, 22-year-old Brandon Jimenez, is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Clarksville Police respond to shots fired at the 900 Block of Princeton Drive. Two victims were shot. 2 year old passed away at the scene.

Nashville Zoo Senior Day to be held Wednesday, October 7th

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – Older adults are invited to enjoy free admission at Nashville Zoo courtesy of Cigna-HealthSpring, Wednesday, October 7th. Adults ages 65 and older will receive a complimentary Zoo admission, parking validation and a $5.00 concessions voucher.

Senior Day activities will take place throughout the Zoo from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The young and young-at-heart can enjoy special keeper talks, rides on the Wild Animal Carousel and interactive encounters with outreach animals along the Zoo paths. Additionally, Cigna-HealthSpring and several of its local partners will be on hand at the centrally-located Jungle Terrace area to provide educational materials, offer wellness information and answer questions.
