101st Airborne Division “Strike” spouses bring Performance Triad home

2nd Brigade Combat Team - StrikeFort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) held a “spark your inner fire” workshop, September 30th, at the Family Resource Center here.

The event aimed to educate Strike Family Members on the Performance Triad, an Army-wide initiative to ensure Soldiers and their families are provided tools and information to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Started in 2013 by the U.S. Army Medical Command, the performance triad aims to optimize performance by emphasizing the importance of three components – sleep, activity and nutrition.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (1-2) return from their bye this week to host the Buffalo Bills (2-2). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, October 11th.

This week’s game will be televised regionally on CBS, including Nashville affiliate WTVF NewsChannel 5. Andrew Catalon will handle play-by-play duties alongside analysts Steve Tasker and Steve Beuerlein.

The Titans Radio Network, including Nashville flagship 104.5 The Zone, will carry the game across the Mid-South with the “Voice of the Titans” Mike Keith, analyst Frank Wycheck, gameday host Rhett Bryan and sideline reporter Jonathan Hutton.

Fort Campbell Survivor Outreach Services honors Fallen Service Members with Boot Display and Run

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – In honor of Military Survivor Appreciation Week, the 101st Airborne Division and  Fort Campbell Survivor Outreach Services will display more than 7,000 boots on the lawn of the Division Headquarters and hold a Division Run for the Fallen.

The boots will be on display October 15th through October 18th and have been collected from military service members across Fort Campbell and abroad. Each boot is adorned with a photo of an active duty service member who has died while serving since September 11th, 2001.

This display of combat boots, designed by Morale, Welfare and Recreation engineer Thomas Kirkham, honors the memories and sacrifice of the brave military men and women who gave their lives while serving our country and is arranged to be reminiscent of Arlington National Cemetery.
