Austin Peay State University Govs Tennis make headway at ITA Ohio Valley Regional

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUKnoxville, TN – While competing against the top players in the area, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team made strides this weekend in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional at the University of Tennessee.

All six active members played two singles matches in the tournament, along with three doubles contests.

APSU Governors Football cant stop UT Martin Skyhawks in 44-14 loss

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – A different Austin Peay State University running back hit the century mark, but the Governors fell behind early and never recovered, falling 44-14 to UT Martin, Saturday.

For the Governors (0-7, 0-4 Ohio Valley Conference), a continually improving running game was overshadowed by a subpar passing day and two blocked kicks (one field goal attempt, one punt), including one returned 87 yards for a UT Martin (4-2, 3-1 OVC) touchdown.

Montgomery County Driver Safety Program brings ThinkFast Initiative to High Schools

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Driver Safety Program recently brought the ThinkFast Interactive program to students at Montgomery Central High School. ThinkFast Interactive, sponsored by Nissan America and the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office, uses a game show setting to connect young people with factual, relevant information related to various personal health and safety issues such as impaired driving, seat belt safety, and distracted driving.

Austin Peay State University Dance Team Showing Support for all Governors

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Dance Team will perform, Sunday, at Governors Stadium,  as part of APSU Intramural’s Flag Football Championships.

APSU’s Dance Team will perform between the 8:00pm and 9:00pm football games at Governors Stadium to support Austin Peay intramural sports.

The Austin Peay Dance Team then will perform 7:00pm, Tuesday at the Foy Center as part of AP Apollo- the homecoming talent contest.

Fort Campbell’s 716th MP Soldiers partner with local law enforcement agencies to conduct active-shooter training

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Soldiers with the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), along with other law enforcement officers from numerous other military units and agencies attended the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Training train the trainer active shooter course at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, October 12th-16th, 2015.

Agencies involved included the 101st Division Provost Marshal’s Office, 502nd MP Bn., 198th MP Bn. National Guard, Fort Campbell Police Department, Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Wildlife Law Enforcement and personnel with the Kentucky and Tennessee FBI offices.

Shelby Nelson, a law enforcement officer with the Clarksville Police Department; Staff Sgt. Mathew Lange, a military police officer with the 194th Military Police Company, 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Sgt. John Michl, with the 551st MP Co., 716th MP Bn.; and Jesse Hedrick, a deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, conduct the breaching phase of the approaches and breaching portion of the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Reaction Training train-the-trainer active-shooter course Oct. 14, 2015, at Fort Campbell, KY. Montgomery County Animal Care and Control to host Kinessa Johnson today

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control will host famed African wildlife activist Kinessa Johnson on Saturday, October 17th, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at their facility, 616 North Spring Street in Clarksville, TN.

For a donation to Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (dog/cat food, bedding, toys, money, etc.) Kinessa will autograph and give participants a free 8×10 photograph.

Governor’s Square Mall to have Country Singer & Bullying Prevention Spokesperson Kylie Morgan to perform today

 

Performance in Support of National Bullying Prevention Month

Governors Square MallClarksville, TN – Country singer-songwriter and bullying prevention spokesperson, Kylie Morgan, will be perform at Governor’s Square Mall on Saturday, October 17, in support of National Bullying Prevention Month. The performance will begin at 1:00pm in Dick’s Sporting Goods Court. There will be a free meet & greet with Kylie at Vanity immediately following the performance.

Kylie Morgan is a 19-year-old country music artist from Newcastle, Oklahoma. At age 15, Kylie wrote the song, “Phoebe” in honor of Phoebe Prince, a young girl who committed suicide due to childhood bullying.
