Daniel Hamm came in close behind Gray at ninth (26:09.10), followed by Martin Rejman at 14th (26:38.90). Despite Rejman’s lackluster appearance this week, Doug Molnar was not worried about him competing more effectively the remainder of the season.

“It’s always good to beat a record,” Molnar said. “This was a really great performance by Wesley. Rejman had some ailments this week, but he gave it a valid effort and that’s what matters.”

For the women’s team, Jessica Gray finished runner-up with a time of 18:21.60 in the women’s 5K. This is the second time this season she has lowered her personal best. Gray led a women’s effort that finished third-place in the meet overall.

Molly Jordan also had an impressive outing, finishing seventh overall in the meet with a time of 19:08.10. Natalie Olberding and Unjala Lester completed a bit of pack running coming in at 17th (19:47.80) and 19th (20:01.10) respectively.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams will have a week off before they head to Murray, KY. Saturday, October 31st to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.
