Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Senior guard Tiasha Gray scored 26 points as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team eased by Kentucky Wesleyan, 88-67, in exhibition action, Thursday night, at the Dunn Center.

Austin Peay scored the game’s first five points in less than a minute as junior Beth Rates hit a jumper while Madison Rich and Tiasha Gray combined for three free throws.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrest Jonathan Davis for Burglaries in Woodlawn

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office have recovered stolen property and charged a man in connection with recent thefts and burglaries in the Woodlawn and Dotsonville areas.

Jonathan “Johnny” Roy Davis has been charged with three counts of felony theft, two counts of aggravated burglary, and five counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

Clarksville Community Concert Association hosts renowned French horn player Eric Ruske at APSU Sunday, November 8th

 

The Clarksville Community Concert AssociationClarksville, TN – At 3:00pm on Sunday, November 8th, the Clarksville Community Concert Association will host its second concert of the 2015-2016 season with internationally famed French horn player Eric Ruske performing in the APSU Mabry Concert Hall.

At the age of 20, Ruske began serving as Associate Principal Horn for the Cleveland Orchestra, one of the most highly respected orchestras in the world.

After winning competitions both at home and abroad, and playing for six years with the renowned Empire Brass Quintet, Ruske’s solo career has flourished in locales as varied as the Louvre in Paris, the Royal Academy of Music in London, Lincoln Center in New York and concert halls in Beijing, St. Petersburg, Seoul, Rome and Tokyo.

Clarksville Police report Vehicle Crash with Fatality on Paradise Hill Road

 

Clarksville Vehicle Crash leaves one dead.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Yesterday evening, November 4th, 2015 at 10:21pm, Clarksville Police Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash that occurred on the 1400 block of Paradise Hill Road.

The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The male driver, 22-year-old Charles Dewayne Merriweather Jr, died at the scene of the crash.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Blakemore Drive Closed

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed Blakemore Drive from Briarwood Drive to Whitfield Road to repair a water service line. Motorists will be detoured to Whitfield and Briarwood.

The repair work is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 12:30pm.

Austin Peay State University Athletics continues graduation success

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s athletics department received its annual NCAA graduation success rate report, Wednesday, which included the current federal graduation rates for each of the department’s 13 sports.

According to the NCAA’s graduation success rate (GSR), Austin Peay graduated 79 percent of its student-athletes who entered college in 2008. It is the eighth consecutive year Austin Peay has shown improvement in its graduation success rate.
