Traffic to Utilize On and Off-Ramps at Rossview Road
Clarksville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close a short section of Interstate 24 and State Route 237 (Rossview Road) in Montgomery County for bridge demolition. During the closure, traffic will use the on- and off-ramps at SR 237.
Work is scheduled for Friday, November 13th at 8:00pm through Monday, November 16th at 5:00am – I-24 eastbound only and SR 237 over I-24 will be closed.
The bridge over the interstate will be closed to allow interstate traffic to maintain flow across the ramps. Although the ramps will be accessible, motorists are advised to plan ahead and utilize alternate routes if possible.
Message boards are in place to alert motorists to the road closures. State and local law enforcement and TDOT HELP trucks will also be on-site to assist with traffic.
The scheduled closures are weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled.
The lane closures are necessary to allow crews to demolish the old overpass bridges and remove debris from the roadway. The work is part of a $12.8 million project that will widen SR 237 from west of I-24 to east of International Boulevard, including I-24 ramp modifications. Traffic was shifted to the newly built overpasses earlier this week. The project is expected to be completed in May 2016.
