Nashville Zoo offers Victorian Christmas Tours at Historic Home

 

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – Join Nashville Zoo for a traditional Victorian Christmas tour at The Grassmere Historic Home. Yuletide tours will be held the first three weekends in December (December 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th) and are included with Zoo admission.

The home is decked for the holiday season with greenery, ribbon and vintage decorations that had been collected over the years by Margaret and Elise Croft, the former tenants of the Grassmere property whose family owned the land and home for five generations.

The 0-3 Governors are amidst a busy first two weeks of the 2015-16 season. By Sunday’s end—and two games—the Govs will have played an NBA-like five games in nine days.

AAA releases Thanksgiving Travel Forecast; 46.9 Million Americans Expected to Travel

 

Seventh consecutive year of growth; the most Thanksgiving travelers since 2007

AAAKnoxville, TN – AAA Travel forecasts 46.9 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving holiday, a 0.6 percent increase from the 46.6 million people who traveled last year and the most in eight years.

With 300,000 additional holiday travelers, this marks the seventh consecutive year of growth for Thanksgiving travel.

Austin Peay State University’s 9th annual Classics Day celebrates ancient languages

 

Austin Peay State University - APSU - logoClarksville, TN – Latin is very much a living language on the campus of Austin Peay State University, as Classics at APSU hosted its annual Classics Day event for area high school students.

The all-day event brought together a record 221 students from Montgomery County and Sumner County high schools for a day of activities centered on the languages of the ancient world.
