Nashville Zoo to hold Run Run 5k January 23rd, 2016

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – A herd of runners, walkers and strollers will make their way through Nashville Zoo during the 2016 Zoo Run Run on Saturday, January 23rd.

The annual 5K takes participants past favorite habitats, like Kangaroo Kickabout and Flamingo Lagoon, and along roads and trails not normally accessed by the public. Families and children are encouraged to bundle up and hit the trail. Strollers with all-terrain tires are recommended.

Nashville Zoo will close to the public at 1:00pm on January 23rd to prepare for the Zoo Run Run.

Registration and check-in begins at 1:30pm, and the race starts at 3:00pm. Refreshments and beer (age 21+ only) will be available after the race.

Early registration (ending December 31st) is $30.00 for Zoo members, $35.00 for non-members and $15.00 for children ages 5-12. Regular registration (January 1st- January 15th) is $40.00 per adult and $20 for children (ages 5-12). Children ages 4 years old and younger are free. Week-of race registration is $50.00 per adult and $25.00 for children (ages 5-12).

All proceeds from the Zoo Run Run help fund daily Zoo operations, from providing educational programming to feeding the animal collection and keeping the Zoo safe and clean for visitors.
