The loss was the Govs’ third straight as they fell to 8-12 overall and 1-4 in the OVC. Belmont, meanwhile, won its sixth straight game, improving to 13-6 overall and 5-0 in the OVC East.

“We ran a lot of races over a two-day period that simulates the conference meet,” Molnar said. “They were kind of worn down by the end but I think we had an outstanding two days.”

Starkville, MS – A career-high 24 points from Detrick Mostella led the Vols to their first road win of the season as they defeated Mississippi State, 80-75, on Saturday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, MS.
Mostella kept his run of solid performances going as he scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the second-half. The sophomore guard from Decatur, AL, also set a career best with five makes from long range.
UT posted a strong first-half performance and led, 38-27, at the break. After a back-and-forth first couple of minutes, the Vols rattled off a 13-0 run powered by back-to-back Devon Baulkman 3-pointers, to take an early 21-9 lead.

TWRA announces 6th annual Daniel Greer Memorial Youth Waterfowl Hunt to be held February 14th in Cheatham County
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is among the partners to host the Sixth Annual Daniel Greer Memorial Youth Waterfowl Hunt. The event will be held Saturday, February 13th at Cheatham Lake Wildlife Management Area.
The event is held in honor of U.S. Marine Corporal Daniel Greer who lost his life in August 2010 while serving in southern Afghanistan. He was an Ashland City firefighter and avid outdoorsman. «Read the rest of this article»

On Monday, the Brig. Gen. Wendell H. Gilbert Tennessee State Veterans Home was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Governor Bill Haslam. This project was years in the making, and I am pleased that it is finally opened to serve our veterans.
Clarksville, TN – Altra Federal Credit Union will offer one Austin Peay State University student the opportunity to win one year’s tuition up to $15,000 at half-time of the APSU men’s basketball game on Saturday, January 23rd at the Winfield Dunn Center.
