UT Vols Basketball falls at Alabama 65-57

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsTuscaloosa, AL – Tennessee couldn’t hold on to a late lead in a 63-57 loss to Alabama at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday night.

The Vols led by as many as 15 points in the second half but faltered on offense down the stretch as the Crimson Tide were able to complete the comeback.

Kevin Punter Jr. led three Vols in double figured with 15 points, 13 of which came in the second half. Robert Hubbs III and Admiral Schofield chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrests Hartsville Man accused of Targeting Neighbor for Assault

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agents have arrested and charged a Hartsville man accused of trying to hire someone to harm his neighbor.

At the request of 15th District Attorney General Tommy Thompson, TBI Special Agents began investigating Kent Howard Smith on January 21st. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that Smith made several attempts to hire a third party to cause serious bodily harm to his neighbor.

Austin Peay State University’s Tiasha Gray, Josh Robinson earn TSWA Player of the Week honors

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsNashville, TN – Two Austin Peay State University basketball players – senior Tiasha Gray and sophomore Josh Robinson – were named Tennessee Sports Writers Association Players of the Week, Tuesday.

Gray, who earns her second TSWA award this season, averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists in back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference victories over Morehead State and Eastern Illinois. Against the Eagles, the Clarksville native totaled 28 points, a school-record tying 13 assists, five rebounds and six steals, leading to APSU’s first road win of 2015-16.

City of Clarksville Finance and Revenue Department to be open Saturdays in February to take Property Tax Payments

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Finance and Revenue Department will be open each Saturday during the month of February to receive property tax payments. The office will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

The expanded office hours will help to accommodate citizens that otherwise would not be able to perform their City business during the regular weekday hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Austin Peay State University to hold Hoops for Heroes Dinner Wednesday night

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Student-Athlete Advisory (SAAC) and Altra Federal Credit Union will serve as hosts to the Hoops for Heroes Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser, 5:30pm, Wednesday, prior to the APSU women’s 7:00pm. basketball game with SIU Edwardsville.

The dinner will take place in the Govs Club area on the Dunn Center third-floor level. Cost for the dinner is $10.00 per ticket, with proceeds going towards sending a military veteran and family to the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships.

Clarksville Police arrest Dustin McCracken in connection to Bojangles Shooting

Montgomery County Election Commission reminds everyone that Voter Registration Deadline is March 1st

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The last day to register to vote for the March 1st, 2016 Presidential Preference Primary and County Republican Primary will be Monday, February 1st.

The Montgomery County Election Commission office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, as well as Saturday, January 30th, from 9:00am to Noon, for voter registration prior to the deadline.
