Clarksville Police reports Shooting Suspect Donte Waldon turns himself in

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – This morning, February 22nd, 2016, shooting suspect Donte Waldon turned himself in.

Clarksville Police were looking for Waldon in connection to a shooting that took place Saturday, February 20th at Scott’s Multipurpose Center located at 930 College Street in Clarksville.

A man was shot in the incident and taken to the hospital with with non-life-threatening injuries.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Shot Fired at Cumberland Room

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to numerous E-911 calls concerning a loud disturbance at the Cumberland Room and individuals standing in the roadway in front of the event center on Highway 48/13.

Upon arriving on scene deputies spoke with the event organizer who indicated there were over 400 individuals in the building and approximately 100 waiting outside to enter. The legal capacity of the Cumberland Room is 320. The County Fire Marshall was called to the scene.

Meet Clarksville Police Sergeant Johnny Ferguson

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN –  Sergeant Ferguson has worked with the Clarksville Police Department for 19 years.

He is currently the District 2B Day Shift Sergeant. His home precinct is CPD Headquarters, and his area of responsibility is downtown Clarksville (Riverside Drive, Madison Street, the area surrounding APSU, Providence Boulevard, Lincoln Homes, Summit Heights, etc).

The Clarksville Police Department showed an immediate interest in Sgt Ferguson after he graduated from Austin Peay State University with a degree in Police Science and Administration. He went through their testing process in January of 1997 and was hired in February of 1997.

Austin Peay hires Brandon Cooper as APSU Football Co-Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – After a season with Murray State, Brandon Cooper joins Austin Peay State University’s staff as the co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach.

Cooper is a well-known commodity around the Ohio Valley Conference—his previous stints around the conference include Murray State, Jacksonville State (2011-12) and UT Martin, where he played (2003-06) and got his coaching start (2008-10).

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Sewer Line Rehabilitation Work Begins Tomorrow

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water’s sewer line rehabilitation work is scheduled to start up tomorrow in North Clarksville on Appleton Drive, North Liberty Church Road and Collinwood Drive.

The work will be ongoing during weekdays for the next few months in the Clarksville service area.

AAA reports Gas Prices begin inching up

 

AAATampa, FL – Motorists may soon begin to find some volatility at the gas pump. The national average price for gasoline rose for four consecutive days last week – the longest streak of increases since December. Prices in the southeast are also beginning to turn volatile.

The average price in Florida is one cent lower than last week, but rose for two days last week, for the first time since December. The average price in Georgia is fractions of a cent lower than last week, after increasing four consecutive days. The average price in Tennessee is the same as last week, after increasing for two consecutive days.

Law Enforcement Impersonators pull over Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Over the weekend two off duty Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Detention Division were stopped in their personal vehicle by individuals impersonating law enforcement officers.

Deputies working in the Detention Center are primarily responsible for the supervision, safety, and security of inmates, not enforcement and patrol.
