APSU Basketball roars back from 19 down to beat Tennessee State 74-72 in OVC Tournament

APSU Men's BasketballNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University rallied from a 19-point second-half to deficit stun No. 4 seeded Tennessee State, 74-72, Thursday night in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament in Municipal Auditorium. It was one of the most remarkable comebacks in APSU Governors basketball history.

The victory vaults the Governors into Friday’s tourney semifinals against No. 1 seed Belmont, 6:30pm.

UT Lady Vols Basketball rolls over Arkansas Razorbacks, 68-51

UT Lady VolsJacksonville, FL – Diamond DeShields scored 15 points to lead Tennessee to a 68-51 win over Arkansas on Thursday at Veterans Memorial Arena in the second round of the SEC Tournament.

Tennessee (18-12, 8-8 SEC) never trailed and led by double figures for most of the game. Arkansas (12-18, 7-9 SEC) could not overcome a slow start or poor shooting (31.3 percent).

DeShields scored 10 of her 15 points in the third quarter and collected six rebounds. Jordan Reynolds had a strong all-around game, scoring 10 points recording team highs of eight rebounds and four assists. Jaime Nared added 11 points with three assists and three boards.

Citizens Police Academy Alumni Donates Flags to Clarksville Police Department

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at 1:30pm, the Citizens Police Academy Alumni (CPAA) donated two Flags—the American Flag and the Tennessee State Flag at the Clarksville Police Department’s District 1 Precinct on 211 Cunningham Lane.

Engraved at the base of each flag is, “Presented to: Clarksville Police Department from CPA Alumni.”

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrests Sex Offender at Vanessas Little Ones Childcare

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) have captured a fugitive sex offender who has been on the run for 18 months.

Christopher Dlubac, 38, was wanted by the Tennessee Department of Corrections and the Clarksville Police Department for sex offender violation, probation violation, and theft of property.

Christopher Dlubac arrested for three violations of the sex offender registry. Failure to report current address, residing with minor children, and being present at a day care. He has also been charged with simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville Police release update on Deceased Person found in residence on Stateline Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016, at approximately 9:26am, Officers of the Clarksville Police Department conducted a welfare check at 160 Stateline Road, Apartment 13.

Arriving officers located an adult female inside the apartment deceased. Detectives were able to identify the adult female as 18-year-old Katelyn Thomas (Baldoni). The preliminary investigation revealed Katelyn Thomas (Baldoni) was assaulted inside her residence.

Clarksville Police continue to investigate the death of a person found inside an apartment located on State Line Road.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office swears in Detention Deputies

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson conducts swearing-in ceremony for seven new deputies.

Taylor Blagg, Jennie Esquilin, Ashley Hicks-Castanon, Craig Kay, Collen McGrath, Daniel Trimble, and Tasha Whitehead will be assigned to the Detention Division of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Detention deputies are responsible for the supervision, safety, and security of inmates.
