The Governors (0-4) begin Ohio Valley Conference play one week from today, March 18th, meaning Saturday’s match will serve as the final tune-up before the conference opener.

VCU (12-3) is expected to give APSU a strong test, a Rams squad which has more than tripled the amount of matches the Govs have competed in this season.

The Rams earned their 12th win of 2016 against OVC foe Belmont, Wednesday, and have nearly matched last season’s win total (15) already. VCU has one senior on its roster – Michal Voscek – who serves as the tone setter from the No. 1 singles position with a 12-3 record.

The Rams also have four players – Catalin Fifea, Vitor Lima, Daryl Monfils and Arvid Noren – who have reached the double-digit win total in singles action.

APSU head coach Ross Brown continues to mix and match with his order of participants behind juniors Aaron Jumonville and Manuel Montenegro. Another junior, James Mitchell, leads the team in singles victories with two, while newcomer Almantas Ozelis has shown promise as a middle of the order player.

In addition, sophomore Aleh Drobysh will compete against his former school after transferring from VCU to Austin Peay in the fall of 2014.
