Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – This morning, Friday, March 11th, 2016, Fort Campbell SGT Jamil Moore was recognized by the Clarksville Police Department for leading CPD Officers to the suspect responsible for multiple vehicle burglaries on Thistlewood Drive. District 1 Commander, Capt David Crockarell, presented SGT Moore with a Citizen Commendation Certificate and a CPD Coin.

On February 28th, 2016, at approximately 11:20pm, SGT Jamil Moore came into contact with a subject walking in his neighborhood on Thistlewood Drive. SGT Moore continued to observe the subject until he noticed the subject walking from car to car trying to open the doors.

SGT Moore then dialed 911, which instigated patrol officers to begin their response to the area. SGT Moore continued to observe the subject, who finally made entry into a neighbor’s vehicle.

Again, he called 911 to inform them of the update and to direct Officers to the subject’s exact location. When Officer Hurt arrived, the subject was behind the apartment buildings and, thanks to SGT Moore, the subject was located.

After contact had been made with the subject, various items of property were found behind the buildings. The items were identified as property that had been taken from several vehicles in that neighborhood.

Much credit for the apprehension of the vehicle burglar is due to SGT Jamil Moore. The information SGT Moore provided also was used in the interview, which led to a confession by the suspect.
