Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUJacksonville, AL – Austin Peay State University (APSU)’s baseball team could not get a timely hit early and was stymied late in a 6-1 Ohio Valley Conference loss to Jacksonville State, Friday night, at Rudy Abbott Field.

Just 48 hours removed from its best offensive outing of the season, a short-handed Austin Peay (9-7, 3-1 OVC) could not get a timely hit early in the contest.

APSU Men's Tennis - Austin Peay State UniversityRichmond, KY – In its first Ohio Valley Conference match of the season,  APSU men’s tennis team fell 7-0 at Eastern Kentucky, Friday.

The Austin Peay State University Governors (0-6) failed to record a point for the third consecutive contest, falling just short of claiming the doubles session.

UT Lady Vols Basketball comes back to beat Green Bay at NCAA Tournament, 59-53

UT Lady VolsTempe, AZ  Te’a Cooper scored 15 points and Diamond DeShields scored 14 points to lead Tennessee to a 59-53 comeback victory over Green Bay in Friday’s NCAA Tournament First Round contest at Wells Fargo Arena.

The No. 7 seed Lady Vols (20-13) trailed No. 10 seed Green Bay (28-5) by as much as eight points in the second quarter, making the win their biggest comeback of the season. Tennessee also recorded its 40th-straight 20-win season.

Cooper scored 11 of her 15 points in the second half and was 7-of-11 from the floor for the game with three rebounds and two assists. DeShields shot 4-of-15 and also collected four rebounds and three assists. Both Cooper and DeShields fouled out in the final 38 seconds.

Freezing temperatures possible for Clarksville-Montgomery County late Sunday night

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports a progressively colder air mass will be working in across Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee this weekend.

Cloudy skies will add to the chill as afternoon temperatures struggle to reach into the lower 50s.

On Sunday night, clearing skies are expected with surface high pressure building across the region. The combination of clear skies and lighter winds will allow the mercury to fall to near freezing for many areas.

Cold Weather expect to move into Clarksville-Montgomery County over the weekend.

Clarksville Police reports Shots Fired Call this morning leads to Vehicle Pursuit

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Early this morning, March 18th, 2016 at 12:24am, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a Shots Fired call at the 200 block of Timber Court. No one was injured, but a vehicle was damaged by the gunshots.

The owner of the damaged vehicle said she heard five to six shots. She stated that she saw Tionna Thomas driving a burgundy Trailblazer with other occupants quickly flee the area.

Clarksville Police responded this morning to a shots fired call at Timber Court. This led to a multi-agency vehicle pursuit that resulted in the suspects capture.
