Austin Peay State University Golf moves up to 5th at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUSevierville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team moved up one spot, Monday, during the second day of the Fourth Annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, being played at the Sevierville Golf Club River Course.

On a day when 11 of 12 teams saw their scores elevate from Sunday, the Governors fired a 306 for a two-round total of 596 on the 6,972-yard layout and are tied for fifth with host Tennessee Tech.

Austin Kramer led the Govs on Day 2, shooting a 2-over 74. Fellow senior Chris Baker fired a 77 as did junior Erik Hedberg.  Sophomore Justin Arens was the other counter a 78. Senior Tyler Phillips fired an 80 while freshman Sean Butscher, playing an individual, shot an 83.

Murray State (575) will take a 10-shot lead into the final round, with Western Kentucky second (585), followed by Oakland (589) and Southern Illinois (594) in the 12-team event.

The tourney’s final round will commence at 10:00am in a shotgun start.
