Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee, Fannie Battle Day Home Students Participate in Annual Easter Event

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam today welcomed more than 65 children from Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee and Fannie Battle Day Home to the Tennessee Residence Great Lawn for the 6th annual Tennessee Residence Easter Egg Roll.

Keeping tradition alive, the day’s activities included a live performance from children’s musician Steve Lee, face painting, a bunny hop bounce house, and, of course, Easter egg rolling.

APSU Baseball teamClarksville, TN – A four-game Easter Week slate against Kentucky squads comes to an end as Austin Peay State University (APSU)’s baseball team hosts Murray State and a three-game Ohio Valley Conference set. The series begins with a 6:00pm, Thursday contest due to the Easter Holiday.

The Govs and Racers then continue the series with a 6:00pm, Friday matchup followed by a 1:00pm, Saturday contest.

AAA reports Gas Prices rise 23 cents in 20 Days

 

AAATampa, FL – With each passing day, the price of gasoline gets more expensive. In the past 20 days, gas prices have risen a total of 23 cents nationwide, 29 cents in Florida, 28 cents in Georgia, and 29 cents in Tennessee. 

“Rising oil prices, increased demand, and reduced gasoline supplies have forced motorists to pay more money at the pumps in recent weeks,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “And it may not get any cheaper anytime soon. AAA forecasts that prices could rise a total of 30-50 cents by Memorial Day weekend.”

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The No. 7 seed Lady Vols (21-13) will take on No. 3 seed Ohio State (26-7) in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday at 8:30pm CT/ 9:30pm ET on ESPN2.

The winner will advance to Sunday’s Sioux Falls Regional final and will play the winner of the other semifinal game featuring No. 1 seed and #3/2-ranked South Carolina (33-1) vs. No. 4 seed and #14/15-ranked Syracuse (27-7).

Tennessee advanced to the semifinal round on Sunday night by upsetting No. 2 seed and #11/11 Arizona State, 75-64, in the second round on the Sun Devils’ home court in Tempe. UT had beaten No. 10 seed Green Bay in the first round last Friday, 59-53.
