Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Jeff Reed Rescues a Woman and Two Children from a Flooding Vehicle

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) wants to pass along the actions of Sergeant Jeff Reed who is assigned to THP’s Lawrenceburg District. Last night the Giles County area experienced a severe weather event, consisting of high winds and strong rains.

The THP dispatchers alerted Sgt. Reed that US Hwy 31 in Giles County was flooded and there were vehicles in the area. The sergeant proceeded directly to the area and noticed that a vehicle was trapped in deep water with a lady waving her hands frantically out the window.

Frost expected for Clarksville-Montgomery County late Saturday night and early Sunday morning

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to easily drop into the 30s across Clarksville-Montgomery County and all of Middle Tennessee by sunrise Sunday.

As a result, frost is expected to develop across most of the mid- state between 4:00am and 9:00am Sunday. A few of the normally colder locations along the highland rim and Cumberland Plateau may even experience a light, short-duration freeze.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System selects Kimberley Slight CMCSS Teacher of the Year Grades, 9-12

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – Kimberley Slight has been named CMCSS Teacher of the Year for Grades 9-12 today by the Clarksville Montgomery County School System.

Kimberley Slight has been teaching at Northwest High School for 22 years. She was also named the Mid Cumberland Region Teacher of the Year for grades 9-12.

Clarksville Police Department holds Retirement and Promotion Ceremony, April 1st

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Today April 1st, 2016, the Clarksville Police Department hosted a retirement and promotion ceremony.

After Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan’s opening comments, Deputy Chief Frankie Gray and Deputy Chief Michael Parr presented Sergeant Andy Hagewood with a Certificate of Retirement and Officer Cris Hill with a Promotion Certificate to the rank of Sergeant.
