Austin Peay State University Baseball succumbs to Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles 14-3

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUCookeville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team saw the script from its Game 1 victory used against it in a 14-3 Ohio Valley Conference loss to Tennessee Tech, Saturday, at Bush Stadium.

In the series’ first game, Austin Peay (15-10, 7-4 OVC) scored five runs in the second inning and cruised to the win. Saturday, Tennessee Tech scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back.

Attorney General Opinion regarding the use of Veterans Income in Calculating Property Tax Relief

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Nashville, TN – On February 3rd, 2016, I requested the State Attorney General Herbert Slatery to review and issue a legal opinion on the property tax relief legislation (Public Chapter 481) passed last year.

On Tuesday, March 29th, we received the following opinion from the Attorney General attached at the bottom of this article.

House Bill 1410/Senate Bill 1484 (Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville) passed both the Senate Local Government Committee and the House Local Sub-Government Committee on March 30th.

Clarksville’s Customs House Museum is holding Annual Women’s History Month Exhibition through May 1st

 

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Each year the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center features the art of women in celebration of Women’s History Month. This year, Tennessee women artisans are showcased in the newly renovated Kimbrough Gallery. The exhibit, titled A Woman’s Touch, includes sculpture, jewelry, clothing, furniture, printmaking, and ceramics.

Participating in the exhibit are artists Kim Winkle, Anne Rob, Claudia Lee, Susan DeMay, Jeanie Stephenson, Jennifer Knowles, Virginia Fisher, Jennifer Crescuillo, Vicki Vipperman, Brenda Stein, and Melina Ludwig.

APSU Baseball and Softball Alumni Reunion to be held April 23rd

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) will host the Third Annual Alumni Tailgate, 11:30am, April 23rd, to welcome back former baseball and softball student-athletes.

The Alumni VIP Tailgate will be held on the Drane Street side of Tailgate Alley, spots 90-94. All reservations must be made by Friday, April 15th, limit four tailgate passes per alumnus. The event kicks off a full afternoon of spring sports, beginning with Game 1 of a noon, softball doubleheader versus Jacksonville State. Game 2 of the series will follow at 2:00pm, at Cheryl Holt Field.
