Four Dodgers Limit Nashville to Four Hits

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers spoiled Opening Day in Nashville with a 5-0 shutout win over the Sounds on Thursday night at First Tennessee Park.

Rain, and early Oklahoma City scoring, put a damper on the evening. The game was delayed 45 minutes to start when heavy rain began to fall just minutes before the scheduled first pitch of 6:35pm.

When play began, the Dodgers (1-0) didn’t waste any time getting in front. Micah Johnson started the game with a bloop single to left and moved to second on a stolen base.

Nashville Sounds have four hits and three errors in loss to Oklahoma City Dodgers Thursday night.

Montgomery County urges everyone to take action to prevent Mosquitoes

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Montgomery County Public Health Director Joey Smith, this week urged residents and business owners to start “Tip and Toss” and “SWAT” actions to prevent mosquito breeding grounds.

“Mosquito season has started in Tennessee, presenting potential health problems for residents who could be bitten by disease-carrying mosquitoes,” said Mayor Durrett.  “To prevent mosquito breeding spots, we urge residents and business owners to do a cleanup near their homes and establishments, discarding or tipping over items than can unintentionally hold water that mosquitoes can use to lay eggs and multiply.  A mosquito can lay her eggs in something as small as a plastic soda bottle top, so tossing these types of items into the trash could help prevent you or someone else from suffering a mosquito bite.”
