The Governors (6-8) have struggled against teams outside of league play, compiling a 1-5 record.

However, APSU has picked up wins in six of its last seven contests, including a three-match winning streak against OVC members Murray State, Tennessee State and Belmont last week.

Three Govs – Almantas Ozelis, Manuel Montenegro and Aleh Drobysh – have each won three-straight matches after a successful week of action. Montenegro clinched Saturday’s match versus Belmont with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 nod over Adam Rudowski, while the doubles team of Ozelis and Drobysh improved to 8-1 after a seventh-straight OVC win.

Middle Tennessee (15-8) is coming off a 4-0 sweep over UTSA in Conference USA play, improving to 2-1 on the year. Three Blue Raiders have reached the 15-win mark in 2016, led by Gonzalo Morell, who has seen time at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. After climbing as high as 50th in the ITA rankings, Middle Tennessee has since fallen to 74th after dropping four of its last five matches.

Austin Peay has played the Blue Raiders in each of the last two seasons, with both meetings resulting in Middle Tennessee victories. In September, MTSU defeated the Govs in a fall exhibition contest, 7-0, prior to APSU assembling its current spring roster.
