APSU Governors Baseball travels to Nashville to face Belmont Bruins

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – A battle between the third and fourth-place teams in the OVC standings will unfold when Austin Peay State University’s baseball team meets Belmont in a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series, Friday-Sunday, at E.S. Rose Park.

The three-game set begins with a 4:00pm, Friday contest followed by 1:00pm affairs both Saturday and Sunday.

Nashville Sounds fall to Colorado Springs Sky Sox late rally, 7-5

 

Nashville Sounds Splits Four-Game Series

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – A four-run eighth inning by the Colorado Springs Sky Sox doomed the Nashville Sounds in a 7-5 loss Thursday night in front of 5,202 fans at First Tennessee Park.

Nashville had a 5-3 lead when Andrew Triggs took over in the eighth. He struck out Hernan Perez to start the inning, but then allowed an infield single to Jake Elmore.

Garin Cecchini followed with a base hit to put runners at first and second. Eric Young Jr. followed with a sharp ground ball just to the right of shortstop Tyler Ladendorf who bobbled the ball allowing all runners to be safe.

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Appleton Drive Area Water Outage Planned for Friday

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has planned a water outage on Friday morning at 8:30am for water valve replacement work on Appleton Drive.

The water outage will affect Appleton Drive, Nichols Drive and the surrounding vicinity. Low water pressure may also affect area residents throughout the duration of the work.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Detective Channing Bartel is investigating a Fraud/False Pretense incident that occurred at the 2700 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and is requesting public assistance in identifying the suspect.

The victim lost his wallet or had his pocket picked at the Cracker Barrel in Smyrna, TN. The victim reported the lost wallet to the bank in Smyrna initially, thinking he had lost the wallet.

Clarksville Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting April 16th, 2016

 

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that on Saturday, April 16th, from 7:00am through 2:00pm, there will be a lane closure on I-24 eastbound at MM 8 (Exit 8 to SR 237) for bridge construction.

Motorists can expect some minor delays and should allow additional travel time, or seek an alternate route if all possible.

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – Rivers and Spires Festival kicks off tonight,  Thursday, April 16th with musical entertainment for everyone. This free festival will have musicians of all genres. Tonight’s hours are from 5:00pm-10:00pm.

Hadley Park will get things started on the Public Square Stage at 5:00pm. Taylor X will will hit the Strawberry Alley Stage with her heavily choreographed, dance-driven show at 5:30pm

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) is now reporting a chance of rain showers tonight for Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Festival. The earlier forecast of partly cloudy has turned to a 50% chance of rain tonight.

High today will be in the upper 60s. Tonight, the low will be around 50 with southeast winds up to 5 mph.

The forecast for Friday at Rivers and Spires is partly cloudy with a low around 40. The high for Saturday will be in the mid 70s with clear skies. The low Saturday night will be around 50.

22nd Annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament is just one month away

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – The countdown is on…the 22nd annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just one month away.

This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 14th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing State Park. Last season’s tourney drew more than 200 boats.

The tournament will benefit Austin Peay State University athletics. More than $12,000 dollars in prize money will be awarded.
