Tennessee Titans trade up to take OT Jack Conklin with the 8th pick in NFL Draft

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans traded with the Cleveland Browns up to the No. 8th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to take Michigan State Offensive Tackle Jack Conklin. The Titans traded the No. 15 overall pick, a 3rd round pick and a 2nd round pick in 2017 to the Browns.

The 6’6″, 308 pound Conklin ran a 5.0 second 40 yard dash in the NFL Combine. He has a scrappy player with good core strength, power in his hands and locks up defenders making it hard for them to get around him.

Conklin was a three year starter at left tackle with Michigan State. He started 38 of his 39 career games and had more than 235 knockdowns in his career.

He was named All-American by Sporting News (first team), USA TODAY (first team), Associated Press (second team), CBS Sports (second team), and Football Writers Association of America (second team).

Overall, he has tackle position strength, great size, and solid technique. He will make a great addition to the Tennessee’s roster. He can start on the right side of the line or with some work, at left tackle.
