YMCA Race Series kicks off 2016 season With The Gauntlet presented by CDE Lightband

Clarksville's YMCAClarksville, TN – Get on your mark, Middle Tennessee: the YMCA Race Series kicks off its 2016 season with the 3rd Annual Gauntlet presented this year by CDE Lightband on Saturday, May 21st.

For its second year, the race is again set to take teams of two on three miles of trails through Rotary Park, with 11 fun and challenging partner obstacles in your route.

This race offers a new twist on popular obstacle racing by adding the partner element.

The Gauntlet presented by CDE Lightband benefits the Clarksville Area YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign.

Visit the The Gauntlet’s webpage for additional race information. Online registration closes on May 19th, however the race is only open to the first 150 teams and is subject to sell out before registration closes.

Runners select their preference from three heat times when, 7:30am, 8:30am or 9:30am, when registering.

Overall awards will be based on clock (gun) time. Awards will be presented in the following categories:

Medals for top 3 finishers in each class Male, Female, and Co-Ed teams; one overall race winner; and an award for best team spirit (voted on by race volunteers)

Presentation of awards will follow after the last runner crosses the finish line in the last heat, which should be around 10:45am.

All proceeds from YMCA Race Series events support the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign. All money raised by the campaign supports the Y’s efforts to give everyone in our community, regardless of age, income or background, the opportunity they need to learn, grow and thrive.
