Kirstin Robertson named APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Junior Kirstin Robertson, of the Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Robertson has opened her 2016 campaign on a tear, scoring four goals in her first five contests to sit second on the Ohio Valley Conference goals leaderboard, one behind Southeast Missouri’s Natasha Minor.

The Ashland City, TN native claimed the first OVC Offensive Player of the Week award, August 23rd, after netting the game-winning goal in both of Austin Peay’s opening weekend contests against UAB and Alabama State.

She also found the back of the net in the Govs home opener against Evansville and at Lipscomb, Sunday.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

  • Junior tight end James Coleman, of the football team, put together his best performance to date in the Governors season opener at Troy, posting career-highs in catches (six), yards (65) and touchdowns (two) against the FBS Trojans.
  • Sophomore Christina White, of the volleyball team, has posted a team-high 67 kills through seven matches, including a team-best 13 in the Governors first win of 2016 against Troy, August 27th. White’s 58 digs are second on the squad, and she posted double-doubles against New Mexico State (11 kills, 10 digs), September 2nd, and Valparaiso (11 kills, 10 digs), September 3rd.
