Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold first-ever Zombie 5K Chase Race

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Run for your lives! The Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Clarksville Zombie Hunters have teamed up to host the Zombie 5K Chase Race.

Find out how fast you can escape as zombies take over Liberty Park on Saturday, October 29th beginning at 7:00am.

Zombie 5K Chase Race set for October 29th.

Try and survive the apocalypse by using your brains and disguises to outsmart hungry zombies along the 3.1 mile course.

You’ll need endurance, stamina and quick wit to survive this 5K – your life depends on it! All fitness levels are welcome.

Open to ages 5 and up. Strollers are permitted, but must begin at the back of the race for safety.

Registration

Registration is available online at www.cityofclarksville.com/ZOMBIE5K or in person at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation office located at 102 Public Square.

Course Options

Timed 5K
Early Bird Rate: $30.00

Fee increases to $35.00 on October 18th

Runners will endure a 5K run through a zombie-infested course. Test your speed, endurance, and strength while trying to avoid ravenous zombies! *This race is limited to the first 500 registrants and includes a t-shirt and finisher’s medal. Participants in this race are eligible for awards.

Non-Timed 5K
Early Bird Rate: $20.00

Fee increases to $25.00 on October 18th

Same zombie infested 5K course as the timed event, but for the non-competitive type. This race is about having a good time. Feel free to run, walk, skip, or hop! *This race is limited to the first 500 registrants and includes a t-shirt. Participants in this race will not receive a finisher’s medal or be eligible for awards.

Family Fun Run
Early Bird Rate: $15.00

Fee increases to $20.00 on October 18th

This race is intended for those 10-years and younger who want to participate with their parents and siblings, but may not have the endurance for a whole 3.1 miles. *There is no limit on participant registration and includes a t-shirt. Participants in this race will not receive a finisher’s medal or be eligible for awards.

Costume Contest

This is a contest for the most believable zombie. All contest contestants must be a registered race participant to compete in the costume contest. Costume contest will be divided into two age groups: Under 18 and Adult. First, second, and third place winners will be awarded in each division.

Zombie Attacks

No direct or intentional contact with another runner or zombie is permitted (course monitors will be present). Runners cannot push other runners into zombies. No fake (or real) weapons allowed. Violators of this rule may be asked to leave the premises.

Additional Information:

  • Registration will close at 11:59pm on October 27th. We will not be offering walk-up registration during event.
  • After registration, visit the Clarksville Zombie Hunters website and use code “ZOMBIE5K” to receive $1.00 off a hayride.
  • T-shirts and sizes are guaranteed when you register by October 15th. T-shirt availability and sizes may be limited or unavailable for registrations received on or after October 16th.
  • Packet pick-up will be held Friday, October 28th from 3:00pm-6:00pm and Saturday, October 29th beginning at 7:15am at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
  • Rain or shine event. No refunds.
