Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale begins Thursday, October 27th

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – The Friends of the Library Fall Book sale at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will open Thursday October 29th, 2016 at 4:00pm with the Friends-only preview until 7:00pm that evening.

Memberships and renewals may be paid for at the door for a donation of at least $5.00.

APSU Women's Volleyball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Entering the weekend tied for third in the Ohio Valley Conference race, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will look to stay atop the standings in a pair of key league contests. First, the Governors travel to Eastern Illinois for a 7:00pm, Friday contest at Lantz Arena.

Austin Peay then heads to the other side of the state for a 2:00pm, Saturday match against league-leading SIU Edwardsville at the Vadalabene Center.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Section of Benjamin Drive Closed

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed a section of Benjamin Drive from Fire Break Drive to Gaine Lynn Drive to repair a water service line leak.

Motorists will be detoured to Fire Break Drive and Gaine Lynn Drive to avoid the work zone.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 4:00pm.

APSU Men’s Basketball has two games on CBS Sports Network this season

APSU Men's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will make two appearances on the CBS Sports Network in 2016-17, the Ohio Valley Conference announced Thursday in conjunction with the network.

The Govs’ first nationally-televised contest is an 8:00pm (CT), Thursday, January 12th contest against SIU Edwardsville from the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, IL.

Clarksville Police releases names of those Killed in Three Vehicle Crash on Ashland City Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday afternoon October 5th, 2016 Clarksville Police Officers responded to a fatal three-vehicle crash on Ashland City Road that was called in at 4:08pm.

Vehicle 1, the at-fault vehicle, hit vehicle 2 head-on causing vehicle 2 to collide with vehicle 3. There were four fatalities from this crash.

CPD has released the names of the deceased today.

This week’s game will be televised regionally on CBS, including Nashville affiliate WTVF NewsChannel 5. Play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon will call the action alongside analysts Steve Tasker and Steve Beuerlein. Chris Fischer will report from the sidelines.

Clarksville Police release names of Watertown Place Homicide Suspect and Victim

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, October 5th, 2016, at approximately 5:26pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a shooting already occurred at 2151 Watertown Place.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 60-year-old Richard Gibeau, deceased on the scene. Joshua Chambers, was at the scene and surrendered to officers without incident.  Chambers has been charged with Criminal Homicide and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Montgomery County Animal Care and ControlMontgomery County, TN – In an effort to make the public aware of the animal problem in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control has released the statistics on the intake, adoption and euthanasia.

In September, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control took in a total of 421 animals (199 cats, 218 dogs, 1 goat, 1 turkey and 2 rabbits).
