APSU Women's Volleyball - Austin Peay State UniversityCharleston, IL – Behind junior Ashley Slay‘s 15-kill performance, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team posted a three-set Ohio Valley Conference sweep (28-26, 27-25, 25-15) against Eastern Illinois, Friday night, at Lantz Arena.

The first two sets were defined by each team posting impressive come-from-behind efforts.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Urges Motorists to Watch Out for Deer

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol cautions motorists to watch out for deer on or near the roadways this fall season. An increase in deer-related crashes is likely during the months of October through December due to deer mating and hunting season.

“A crash with a deer can be a very serious and dangerous incident,” THP Colonel Tracy Trott said. “Deer pose a danger to motorists throughout the year, especially in the fall. Our stats show November is typically the worst month for deer-related crashes. It is important motorist exercise caution, slow down and remain alert in areas where deer are populated.”

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityKansas City, MO – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team was one of nine Ohio Valley Conference schools to earn NSCAA Team Academic Award recognition for excellence in the classroom.

A total of 892 soccer teams (314 men, 578 women) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – This week the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins will renew a rivalry that began in 1966, when the Dolphins entered the American Football League. The Titans are 16-19 all-time against Miami, including a playoff victory in 1978.

Five of the last seven regular season meetings have been played at Hard Rock Stadium. The clubs met there in the 2004 season opener (September 11th), a 17-9 Titans victory that was played on a Saturday rather than Sunday due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Ivan.

S&P Global Ratings, an arm of Standard & Poor’s Financial Services LLC, has affirmed its “AA-“ long-term rating on CDE’s outstanding electric system revenue bonds.

The rating reflects the agency’s view of the general creditworthiness of the city’s electric system.

Robertson garnered adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after posting two goals and two assists last week, including the game-winner in a 4-3 contest at UT Martin, Friday.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan to help lead regional Mayors Caucus

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was elected co-vice chair of the Middle Tennessee Mayors Caucus as the regional partnership of mayors and county executives met this week to choose officers and endorse state action on transportation funding.

The caucus also elected Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson as its new chairman and Metro Nashville Mayor Megan Barry as a co-vice chair.  Anderson steps into the position held by Franklin Mayor Ken Moore for the past three years.
