Clarksville, TN – Junior forward Kirstin Robertson, of the Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Robertson garnered adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after posting two goals and two assists last week, including the game-winner in a 4-3 contest at UT Martin, Friday.
The Ashland City native ran her points streak to five games. Her 88th-minute game-winner at UT Martin was her fifth in 2016, ranking third in the nation; she’s also among the top-10 in Division I in goals (10, sixth) and points (23, seventh).The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included
- Junior middle blocker Ashley Slay, of the volleyball team, led the Govs with 13 kills and six blocks, including the 200th block of her Austin Peay career, in a 3-1 win at Eastern Kentucky.
- Senior Erik Hedberg, of the men’s golf team, posted an even-par 216 (71-72-73) at the Skyhawk Classic, finishing tied for fourth and earning all-tournament honors.
- Sophomore quarterback Tommy Hays, of the football team, rushed for two touchdowns and was 14-for-17 for 160 yards through the air—completing his first 14 pass attempts—against Murray State, Saturday.
- Freshman Hezron Kiptoo, of the men’s cross country team, finished 12th overall at the JSU Invitational with a season-best 25:37.50 mark on the eight-kilometer course at Oxford Lake.
