Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will host the Ontario Blue Jays amateur baseball club in a 3:00pm, Thursday, October 13th exhibition contest at Raymond C. Hand Park.
The contest will be a part of the Governors fall practice slate, which began September 19th.Admission to the contest will be free to the public and all seating is general admission.
Austin Peay returns 14 letterwinners from last season’s squad, including four position starters and all six pitchers that started a contest. The Governors finished third in the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference regular-season race and in its postseason tournament.
The Ontario Blue Jays, who are amidst their own month-long fall travel schedule, are one of Canada’s top amateur programs and compete in the Canadian Premier Baseball League. Last season, the program had three players selected in the first 10 rounds of the Major League Baseball draft and five players sign to play at Division I programs.
