From Hurricanes to Forrest Fires, Tennessee National Guard Wraps Up Busy Week

 

Tennessee Emergency Management AgencyNashville, TN – The Tennessee Army National Guard sent helicopters and crews to South Carolina late last week as the state made preparations ahead of Hurricane Matthew’s arrival.

The rotary wing assets were requested by South Carolina through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact process whereby states can ask for help in time of crisis, or other natural disasters.

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency serves as the mitigating agency for such requests and works regularly with other state emergency management agencies to facilitate these cooperative agreements.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Meshaw Trail Water Outage

 

Friday, October 14th, 2016

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Meshaw Trail in the Arbour Greene subdivision to repair a water main leak.

Area residents may also experience low water pressure during the work.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and water service restored by approximately 6:00pm.

Clarksville Police respond to Crash on Trenton Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report that the southbound lanes on Trenton Road are closed at the intersection of Interstate 24 due to a crash with injuries that occurred just before 3:30pm this Friday afternoon, October 14th, 2016.

Injury status is unknown at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.

CPD will release updates when new information is available.

City of Clarksville invites public to Northeast Connector meeting

 

Roadway is needed to relieve congestion in high-density section of Clarksville

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and the Clarksville Street Department urge citizens interested in a project to ease traffic congestion in Northeast Clarksville to attend a public meeting at 6:00pm Monday, October 24th at Northeast High School.

The City of Clarksville will host the meeting to discuss the project and the environmental study under way for the proposed Northeast Connector and related improvements.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – This week’s game marks the 65th all-time meeting in the regular season between the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns. In the previous 64 outings, the Browns own a 35-29 advantage, including separate nine- and six-game winning streaks by the Browns.

The Titans’ nine-game losing streak against the Browns from 1970-74 is tied for the longest in franchise history (Oakland, 1966-73).

Additionally, the clubs have played one playoff game, a 24-23 Wild Card win by the Oilers in 1988.

Clarksville Police seek help identifying Dollar General Armed Robbery Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Detective Tracy Woodruff with the Clarksville Police Department is trying to identify a suspect involved in an Armed Robbery and is requesting public assistance.

On October 11th, 2016 between 8:23pm and 8:27pm, an unknown male came into the Dollar General on the 100 block of Edmondson Ferry Road wearing all black clothing and a dark blue bandanna covering his entire face.
